S.H.E. Career Development Program
The main goal is for women to recognize the heroes within themselves, to find their voices and to continue their career and life journey with courage and confidence.
The S.H.E. (Supporting Heroic Expeditions) Program for Women is a set of innovative and interactive career and professional development workshops for women who are out of work or under-employed and are seeking new career directions and possibilities. The S.H.E. Program approaches career development as a journey somewhat like embarking on any other great and heroic expedition.

In 2007 NWEC was chosen as one of a few groups in Ontario for a pilot project to assist women who are victims of domestic abuse to gain technical skills. This program was renewed in 2009 and again in 2011 to deliver two years of skills based training in Office Administration in partnership with Niagara College.
Gillian's Place and Women's Place South Niagara and Design for a New Tomorrow are partners to this program providing transitional support and personal counseling.
