Dietary Server Training Program

NWEC's Dietary Server Program offers women valuable skills to meet the needs of Niagara’s booming long-term care & retirement living industries.   Become a valuable part of the team of essential workers!  Our program provides valuable certifications and job placement potential.  NWEC works with our training partners with the Alzheimer's Association of Niagara, The Niagara Elder Abuse Prevention Network, Contact North.  We also work with a variety of Niagara employers and our community partners at Employment Ontario to assist participants to find employment following the successful completion of the program. Please note that a Clear Vulnerable Sector Check is not a requirement for program entry, but it is a requirement for working as a dietary server. This program is offered as a flexible hybrid-learning environment, with a combination of in-classes and on-line learning which can be completed on your own time, at your own pace.

Participants of the Dietary Server Training Program receive training on topics such as:

- Violence and Harassment in the Workplace

- WHMIS

- Safe Food Handling

- First Aid/CPR

- Workplace 4 Step Health and Safety

- Elder Abuse Prevention Certificate

- Empathy and Sensitivity Training

- Resume Development, interview skills and job readiness assistance

- Assistance for enrolment in Food Service Worker at Niagara College
